Kenwood TK3501T

SKU: TK3501T

The Kenwood TK-3501 is a license-free two-way radio offering high-quality performance at an exceptional value.

Utilising the free-to-access 446 MHz unlicensed spectrum, the TK-3501 offers the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of a basic leisure ‘walkie talkie’ with a range of business-class features that make it ideal for use in construction, education, light industry, retail and small office complexes.

With a slim profile and weighing just 210g, the TK-3501 fits comfortably into any pocket and is easy to operate in one hand. Its controls are very straightforward, with simple push-to-talk (PTT) operation making it ideal for a first-time user.

Despite its small size, the TK-3501 is built with a durable aluminium chassis that will withstand heavy day-to-day use over a long period of time. It is rated as IP54 for dust and water ingress and is certified to a number of military-grade testing protocols for the likes of vibration, shock and humidity resistance.

On a fully charged battery this model is able to operate for a maximum of 20 hours in power saving mode, the TK-3501 presents no concerns about running out of juice mid-shift. It operates on 16 available channels, with a simple rotary channel selection switch.

As an audio specialist, Kenwood two-way radios have a solid reputation for high quality audio, and the TK-3501, despite being a budget option, does not disappoint. It contains a BTL amplifier coupled with large internal speakers that deliver an impressive 1.5W output, which translates into clear, audible, dependable voice no matter the environment.

Additional operating features that are not always present on License-free radios include a calling alert, which gives the user an indication that there is an incoming call. Each handset comes with VOX voice activation programmed as standard, which means you can make a call completely hands free. This is a very handy feature for carrying on conversations as you carry on with something else – the handset switches to transmit as soon as you start speaking.

There is also a voice scrambling mode which prevents eavesdropping on your conversations. This is an important feature for both privacy and security on unlicensed radios. As the frequency range they use is open access, other users within the range can easily tune into your channels and listen in on what is being said.
