Motorola DP1400 (Analogue)
The Motorola DP1400 is an excellent two-way radio suited to all apllications. Easy to use and highly portable, this rugged handset perfectly suits the needs of a broad range of business types looking for a straightforward and cost-effective communications solution, from small and medium-sized warehouses to agricultural operations, security to construction use.
Available in both digital and analogue versions, the digital handset benefits from Motorola radio’s pioneering expertise at the forefront of two-way radio technology. For example, its noise-cancelling software filters out background noise to deliver crisp, clean audio in every environment, while automatic gain control adjusts volume as required to ensure users can hear every word.
Because of the efficiency gains offered by digital technology, this version of the Motorola DP1400 provides up to 40% longer battery life than its analogue counterpart. It also operates with a superior network range and, using the Dual Capacity Direct Mode, you can fit twice as many channels into the same bandwidth to accommodate your growing business.
If you already run a fleet of analogue radios but are reluctant to upgrade to digital, the fact that the DP1400 can function in both modes also makes it an ideal migration option. You can buy handsets one at a time and use them in analogue mode so they work with your legacy devices and then when you have a full set, switch them over to digital.
The Motorola radio DP1400 boasts a number of useful call and messaging features. Historically, two-way radios would only broadcast to the entire network at once, but private calling allows users to target messages more precisely to avoid confusion. Although the Motorola DP1400 is a non-screen model, text messages can be programmed in, which can then be sent when required at the push of a button – quicker and more convenient than making a call.
It also allows so-called ‘VOX’ voice activation, which means you can operate the handset using your voice only without having to physically press the push-to-talk (PTT) button – perfect when you have your hands full.
As a two-way radio built for use in industry, the DP1400 includes important safety features to help with HSE compliance and improve accident protocols. Emergency Calling ensures urgent messages always get through when required, while Lone Worker monitoring is designed to keep tabs on colleagues operating in potentially hazardous places when no one else can be around them.
